Compton Acres, Poole Nursery

Rock a Tots at Compton Acres will continue to provide quality childcare as they take over the nursery setting from the retired Wise Owl Playschool previously at Compton Acres.

Rock a Tots in Poole offers another high-quality nursery setting that provides a home-from-home nurturing environment experience for your child, where children will learn and develop through stimulating play. The nursery has a secure outside space/decked area attached to the main building and a quiet woodland area within Compton Acres for fun activities and free play.

The nursery has separated areas by development and age groups and caters to children from 4 months up to 5 years. Compton Acres has two rooms and we are developing our ‘outdoor’ classroom which will be used by all children on a rota basis.

The rooms follow a similar routine. Our routine consists of a rolling breakfast, followed by free play. Staff will lead certain activities before we pack away for circle time and snack time. Outside play is then encouraged but free flow between in and out is allowed. Again there follows a mix of child led and adult led activities, more often following the children’s ideas before coming together for some carpet time to enjoy lots of singing and stories before hand-washing for lunch.

Babies will follow their own nap time needs, otherwise most children will have a nap or restful meditation after lunch! Our afternoons mirror our morning routine incorporating snack time and tea time.

The nursery is open from 8am to 6pm for 51 weeks of the year. We do offer a pre-booked early morning drop-off at 7:30am. We are closed for a week at Christmas and all bank holidays.
